The Controller and the bells talk to each other over your building’s network, and WiBell joins 2.4 GHz networks only — a 5 GHz network will not appear in the setup list. The Controller and every bell must join the same 2.4 GHz WiFi network; a 5 GHz network will not appear in the setup list at all. Make sure your router’s 2.4 GHz band is switched on — most routers broadcast both bands. That network never needs internet access. Check your network before you order.

WiBell Classic Controller

The WiBell Classic Controller is the central management unit for multi-bell installations of WiBell Classic Programmable Bell. Discover, organize, schedule, and control multiple WiBell bells from a single web interface — accessible from any phone or computer.

All management runs on your building’s own local 2.4 GHz network — no cloud service, no subscription, and no internet connection required. Create schedules once, push them to all bells simultaneously, and each bell runs autonomously from that point.

Use the Controller when you need coordinated schedules, grouped control, and consistent timing across multiple bells in schools, factories, warehouses, and large facilities.

Once schedules are deployed, bells operate independently. 2.4 GHz WiFi is only needed when the Controller talks to the bells — pushing schedules, syncing time, or ringing them manually. If WiFi goes down, bells continue ringing on their existing schedules.

How the connection works

There is no pairing step, no proprietary radio, and no direct link between the Controller and the bells to line up. The Controller and every bell join your building’s existing 2.4 GHz WiFi network — the same network your phones and laptops use — and the Controller finds and commands the bells over it, the way any device on a network reaches another.

A local network is all it needs. Everything happens inside your building — no internet, no cloud account, no outside service.
2.4 GHz WiFi only. WiBell does not use 5 GHz — a 5 GHz network will not appear in the setup list at all.
Range is your WiFi coverage. There is no fixed radio distance to plan around — anywhere your WiFi reaches, a bell can go.
Multiple buildings, one Controller. Bells in separate buildings run from the same Controller as long as those buildings are on the same 2.4 GHz WiFi network. Put each building in its own group with its own schedule.

Keep the Controller and the bells on the same 2.4 GHz WiFi network. A building on its own separate network needs your WiFi extended to it, or its own Controller. On IT-managed networks, keep everything on one VLAN with client/AP isolation off; a bell that discovery can't see can be added by its IP address, and all traffic stays inside your network — no internet or inbound access needed. Requirement: The WiBell Controller manages WiBell Programmable Bells (sold separately). WiBell Bell setup (2 min)
