What WiBell needs from the network — two minutes, no surprises

This is the two-minute briefing for whoever runs your network. WiBell bells and the WiBell Controller are ordinary Wi-Fi devices with a few simple needs.
One. They use 2.4 gigahertz Wi-Fi only. A network that is 5 gigahertz only will not work.
Two. Hidden networks are fine. The installer chooses Hidden or not listed, at the bottom of the list, and types the exact network name. Capital letters matter.
Three. The controller and the bells must be able to see each other: one VLAN or subnet, client isolation off, and multicast or mDNS allowed. That is how discovery finds the bells.
Four. No internet is required, and no inbound access. Everything stays on the local network. Internet is used only, optionally, for automatic time sync and for firmware updates that you start yourself.
Five. Each device keeps its own setup hotspot for the installer. Its password — wibellv2 by default — can be changed on the device's page.
So, what to hand the installer: the 2.4 gigahertz network name, its password, and a network where devices can talk to each other. That is all.

Orders ship within 1–2 business days of payment, with free US shipping. Hardware is made in USA with imported components.
How many bells does my building need?
One bell covers up to 8,000 sq ft. Multi-bell kits come with or without a Controller; add one to set the schedule once and push it to every bell. Not sure? Pick “help me size it” in the form and we'll recommend a setup.
What does the system need from our network?
A single bell needs nothing — it creates its own WiFi hotspot and runs standalone. Multi-bell kits need the Controller and every bell on the same 2.4 GHz WiFi network (5 GHz is not supported). That network does not need internet access — nothing is cloud-hosted. Because the bells are reached over your network rather than by radio, the working range is simply your WiFi coverage: separate buildings on the same network run from one Controller. Setup guide.
